    He was referring to the fact that he is Jewish and the guilt they carry (an insider joke) is the abundant fuel he/they can use to make change.
    I agree, though, that he is brilliant and his theories are definitely needed in our society/neighborhoods/schools/homes/minds now!

    I share this commitment to the need for change and like to think of Time Dollars as capturing the premise that every individual has value. Time Dollars makes the expectation that people who need help are also able to give help. Dr. Cahn’s testimonial reminds us of the value of all of what is already being given through the efforts of this non-monetized segment of our economy. By expecting reciprocity from many who are now “takers” (Thus “unworthy” in the eyes of many conservatives) we can greatly increase the total “resources” available and enhance the quality of life–even when our monetary society is flailing.

    I agree that economy which does not value valuable behavior is not good enough. However this time dollar is not good enough. Let’s imagine that you participate as giver and then you need help at the end of life as getter and you run out of time dollars. Is the “new operating system” good if you don’t help to someone who did not earn time dollars before? Is it the humanity that everyone should follow?

    I’m planning for February 13, 2012 to announce at a public hearing of the MBTA ( Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority) the idea of an individual sovereign declaration on a dated and signed piece of paper ( eventually digits) that will enable users of the T train to use “MY T MONEY” an individually issued currency for a ride on the T. ( the MBTA is planning a major price hike and many are on fixed incomes and thousands have voiced their protest of the fare increase and service reductions)
    I’m thinking this is just exchanging debt for debt and will probably be looked at by many as nonsense, but I think it is a novel idea. It would increase the badly needed money supply and hopefully get people thinking
    also the GM ( General Manager) said at a meeting recently the T should accept “any” currency.

    p.s. Doesn’t MY T MONEY have a nice “ring” to it….sounds like …..mighty money! If you think about it it’s really the best way to get THE PEOPLE’S honest money into circulation! IF Every individual can guarantee a valuable product or service the money they issue …then there would be a more peaceful, transparent and just monetary system!
