"It’s hard for me to ask for help. I joined the Media Time Bank in 2013. In 2014, I asked for and got a ride to the airport. That’s it. But, in 2015, I met Mary. I told her of my upcoming surgery. I’d need meals, trips to the hospital and pharmacy. Mary posted an ad. I had allergies to gluten, soy, tomato and milk. No one wants to cook for someone with that going on. I was wrong. Two people came forward. Within a week after the post, a woman dropped off a week’s worth of meals. I took a picture of them in my freezer and cried. I suddenly had this feeling that I would be okay. Knowing that help can come from strangers who just may become friends makes you realize it’s okay to ask for help - that’s what the Time Bank community provides." - Holly Thomas @ TimeBank Media, Pennsylvania . #timebankingis #community #50storiesin50days #timebanks #story #timeasmoney #help http://ow.ly/yXuI309xhD7
