Community Weaver Fees

Community Weaver fees are based on the following 8 Key Principles:

  • Fees are assessed on timebanks, not on individual members.
  • Fees are based on ranges of timebank members, example 35-49 members
  • The ranges achieve small changes in per-member costs when moving from one range to the next.
  • Timebank fees are charged on a biannual basis (that is, two times a year), due March 31 and September 30.
  • The range for your timebank is determined by the number of members, counted at a point in the period Jan 7 to Jan 15 and again in the period July 1 to July 15.
  • If, in July, your timebank’s membership growth (or decrease) has put your timebank into a new range, your second biannual payment will be in accord with that range.
  • Timebanks that use one instance of Community Weaver will be treated as one timebank.
  • Start-up timebanks pay only a start-up fee in the first year — hosting and tech-support fees begin in year 2. The starting date for timebanks is established when a timebank URL is activated.

*Start-up timebanks pay a start-up fee only. Fees for hosting, tech support and so on begin in year 2. (See the example below.)

** The line between the 120-149 range and the 150-199 range shows the break between smaller timebanks which have smaller increases in number of members for each range, and larger timebanks with larger increases. This grading keeps fees stable, working out at around $3.50 per member per year at the start of each range to $2.50 at the end of each range.

A Fictional Example Showing Fees Invoiced and Paid

Unity In Community TimeBank = UCTB

          Date                                               Action

February 5, 2018                    UCTB applied for CW3 site and paid a start-up fee

February 11, 2018                  UCTB CW3 site and URL activated, start of 1st year begins

July 2018                                UCTB members are counted. No hosting fees in year one

January 2019                          Members are counted. Hosting fees will begin March 1, 2019

February 11, 2019                  UCTB 1st B’day. Free period extends to the end of the month

March 31, 2019                      1st biannual pro-rated fees due

Fees and Payment Detail for 2019 and 2020:

Year 2019

January Invoice = 12 members counted — first biannual fee of $30 will be pro-rated.

Fees are pro-rated to cover March thru June @  66% of $30 = $20, due Mar 31

In March, UCTB pays the first biannual fee of $20

July Invoice = 13 members counted — second $30 biannual fee level unchanged.

Biannual fee for 2nd half of year = $30 due September 30.

In July, UCTB pays the second biannual fee of $30

Total 2nd Year Annual Fee paid in 2019 =  $50

Year 2020

January Invoice  = 28 members counted —  $30 biannual fee level unchanged.

UCTB is invoiced and again pays the biannual fee of $30

July Invoice  = 36 members counted — new biannual fee level of $60.

Biannual fee for 2nd half of year = $60 for 35-49 members.

UCTB is invoiced and pays the new biannual amount of $60

Total 3rd Annual Fee paid in 2020 = $90

A second example showing how the biannual fee structure operates:

Community Weaver Fee Structure

Example Two: Good4Us TimeBank.

Year 2019:

January Invoice = 124 members counted. Range 120-149, Fees applied

First Bi-annual fee = $200 for 120-149 members, due Mar 30

Good4Us pays $400 to cover first and also projected second bi-annual fees.

July Invoice = 143 members counted — fee range unchanged.

Second Bi-Annual fee = $200 — already paid.

Good4Us has already paid both bi-annual fees, and is good to go!

Total Annual fee paid in 2019 =  $400

Year 2020:

January Invoice  = 149 members counted — fee range unchanged.

First Bi-annual fee = $200

Good4Us again pays for both bi-annual fees $400

July Invoice  = 154 members counted — new fee range 150-199 members

Bi-annual fee for 2nd half of year = $240 for 150-199 members.

An adjustment is made by subtracting $200, already paid, from $240.

Good4Us is invoiced the adjusted amount of $40 for the 2nd half year.

It pays the invoice in September, 2019

Total Annual Fee invoiced and paid in 2020 = $440
